APCO International (the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials) is the professional association for public-safety communications.1 With the TIA it drove the creation of Project 25, sometimes called APCO-25.2

APCO represents dispatchers, radio managers, and agencies, and championed an open digital standard for interoperability among emergency services.
